Shared Bins
Facilities management

Engaging with business premises, people managing the waste and waste collectors

If a business is located within a shared waste service location, it will need to ensure that it adheres to the service requirements.

Where you are operating the shared provision waste service for your client businesses you should provide details of the service provision including:

  • access arrangements and who can use the shared waste provision,

  • materials collected and which bins to place them in, and

  • what to do if there are any issues and who to contact if there are any queries.

A point of contact, usually the person responsible for arranging the service should be provided so that any queries that may arise can be dealt with in a timely manner.

Where the waste collector manages shared provisions directly; the waste collectors’ details should be provided to each client business and noted within the bin storage area.

In this scenario, businesses should be advised that queries regarding the service should be addressed directly to the waste collector including confirming terms of use.
